Dr. Guimaraes is a physician, board certified in Acupuncture and Preventive Medicine. She is the co-founder and past president of the Brazilian College of Lifestyle Medicine and responsible for the Brazilian Lifestyle Medicine conference in 2018 and 2021. She is the course leader at Harvard Medical School, Dip IBLM, coordinating lifestyle medicine post graduation programs at Escola Adapta and at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Dr. Guimaraes is also a member of the Hospital Alemao Oswaldo Cruz Cancer Center, responsible for Lifestyle Medicine and Integrative therapies. She is board certified in lifestyle medicine in 2017 and has been Health and Wellness Coach certified since 2015. Most recently, Dr. Guimaraes was featured at TEDTALK as a TEDx speaker!
