Barbara Petersen has dedicated over 25 years to the health and wellness industry, combining her expertise in physical therapy, clinical laboratory sciences, and nonprofit leadership to create impactful programs. She holds an associate’s degree in physical therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. For 18 years, she was a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, working closely with individuals and communities to improve their strength, mobility, and overall well-being.
In the nonprofit sector, Barbara has spent over eight years contributing her expertise in program development, marketing, and community engagement. She currently serves as the Chair of the Marketing Committee on the Board of Directors for Zebra Crossings, Co-Chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee for the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts and formerly held leadership roles as Membership Director of the Southern District YMCA.
Barbara is passionate about developing innovative wellness programs that address the unique needs of specific populations. She founded a high school conditioning camp for female athletes and developed a specialized exercise program for residents with Parkinson’s disease at a local retirement community. Her research into movement therapies led her to design a holistic program integrating music, Tai Chi, meditation, and exercise to enhance mobility and quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.
