Alexis is a fourth-year medical student at Harvard Medical School with a passion for the intersection of mental and physical health. She has been active in the PAVING Program since early 2020, both at Harvard Medical School and at the MGH Cancer Center. Alexis graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 2019, where she received her bachelor’s in neuroscience. Prior to medical school, she worked as a personal trainer with a unique focus on building inclusive fitness spaces for individuals otherwise often excluded from the fitness industry.
Alexis has presented her work in mental health and lifestyle medicine at international conferences and is co-founder with Dr. Frates of WholeheartedMD, a coalition dedicated to improving the mental and physical health of medical trainees. She also serves as a teaching assistant in Dr. Frates' course titled Wellness Inside Out at the Harvard Extension School and is the current president of the Harvard Medical School Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group, where she has had an active role in incorporating lifestyle medicine into the curriculum. Alexis will start her residency in psychiatry in the summer of 2023.
In her free time, Alexis loves to spend time outside with her golden retriever, Mylo, hiking, running, and cycling. She’s also an aspiring at-home barista, podcast lover and language enthusiast!
